Mission and Philosophy

Philosophy

At Tinker Preschool, our children take the center stage in their own learning and our curriculum reflects that belief.

As part of our Reggio Emilia approach, we implement daily outdoor nature learning. Our emergent curriculum holds a strong emphasis in S.T.E.A.M education.

We value children as strong, capable, and resilient thinkers. Our approach supports our students to be able to reach their potential and beyond.

Our mission is for our Tinkerlings to become confident, lifelong learners who:

  • value process over product

  • connect with the natural environment

  • are socially-emotionally resilient

  • think critically and creatively through S.T.E.A.M. education

  • use teamwork to make new meanings of the world around them

What is Reggio Emilia?

The Reggio Emilia approach is focused on a child's natural development and curiosity.

It's a child-centric and innovative approach to early childhood education. It's student-centered, constructivist, and encourages active exploration and engagement. With this approach, we strive to create an environment that nurtures each child's unique interests and abilities. We believe that every child is capable of learning and growing, and we are committed to providing a supportive and stimulating learning environment.

Our Community

We value the importance of building strong relationships with children and their families, and we work collaboratively to create a community that celebrates diversity and promotes inclusivity.

Parent Involvement and Collaboration

At Tinker Preschool, we firmly believe in the power of collaboration between educators and parents. We encourage open communication and invite parents to actively participate in their child's learning journey. Regular parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and events provide opportunities for parents to stay involved, ask questions, and gain insights into their child's progress.
